Construction has begun on Endeavour Energy’s South Marsden Park Zone Substation in New South Wales.

Endeavour Energy general manager Ty Christopher said $24.6 million has been invested to build the new substation on Hollinsworth Road.

“This investment will underpin significant future growth in the area by giving homes and businesses the power they need for many years to come,” Mr Christopher said.

“This project forms part of our long-term plans to boost the development of priority growth areas by providing a safe and reliable electricity supply to homes and businesses in the area.”

Mr Christopher said Endeavour Energy had consulted with Blacktown City Council and planning agencies on the design and location of the new substation.

“The substation was approved following a robust assessment to achieve the best balance of community, environmental, financial and technical considerations,” he said.

Construction of the substation is expected to take two years to complete.
