Tasmanians looking to make energy efficiency changes are being encouraged to take advantage of the Tasmanian Energy Efficiency Loan Scheme (TEELS) before it closes later this month.

A joint initiative of the Tasmanian Government, Westpac and Aurora Energy, TEELS has assisted thousands of customers over the past two years to purchase energy efficient products for households and small businesses via no-interest finance.

Launched in May 2017, approximately $34m has been approved by scheme partner Westpac to more than 4000 applicants to date.

Aurora Energy CEO Rebecca Kardos said TEELS had made a real difference to Tasmanian households and small businesses ahead of the closure of the scheme on 30 April 2019.

“TEELS has had a substantial impact within the Tasmanian community to assist customers to make practical, cost-effective differences to their energy running costs,” Mrs Kardos said.

“We encourage any customer looking to make these practical changes to apply now before the scheme closes on April 30, 2019.”
