Sparkie sacked for using Twisties Faraday cage to wag work

An Aussie sparkie has been fired for using a packet of Twisties to hide his GPS-tracked work device so he could go golfing while on the clock.

Water Corporation WA was tipped off that one of its electricians had been playing golf on the job for two years. The 60-year-old was fired after it was discovered he had been keeping his work device inside a foil Twisties packet in order to block his GPS location (the foil acts as a ‘Faraday cage’ and blocks electromagnetic fields).

The man worked with the company for 20 years before his employment was terminated. It is alleged he’s played golf while on the job 140 different times over a two-year period.
