One millionth customer reached

CitiPower and Powercor Australia have celebrated the recent connection of one million customers to their electricity networks by donating energy efficient whitegoods to a number of community residential programs throughout Melbourne, and central and western Victoria.

In conjunction with the St Vincent de Paul Society, CitiPower and Powercor have gifted 12 washing machines as a small gesture of customer appreciation and a reflection of its ongoing commitment to the communities where it operates.

CitiPower and Powercor acting CEO, Garry Audley, along with customer services general manager, Brendan Bloore presented St Vincent de Paul community services general manager, Netty Horton with two of the washing machines at a handover event held recently in Melbourne.

“Our one millionth customer connection earlier this month has provided us with a great opportunity to thank and to celebrate all of our customers, and we chose to work with the St Vincent de Paul Society to ensure the whitegoods would reach the members of our customer base who needed them the most,” Mr Bloore said.

“CitiPower and Powercor are grateful for the opportunity to give to an organisation that does so much critical work in the community, and in turn, helps us mark an important milestone for our business.

“We couldn’t exist without our customers, and each one of their individual experiences and aspirations are our reasons for keeping the lights on.”

The St Vincent de Paul Society appreciated CitiPower and Powercor’s corporate donation.

“Through our homeless, crisis accommodation and domestic violence services we help the most marginalised in our community.  Donations such as these are critical to enabling us to continue this work,” Mr Horton said.
