Q CELLS newest Q.PEAK DUO-G5 panels are set to make history as they power the homes of South Australia’s first multi-site, battery-powered residential development as part of the South Australia home battery scheme launched in October 2018.

Constructed by DHL Projects, the developments will enable future homeowners to be amongst the first to take advantage of the South Australian Government’s new $200 million solar battery rebate and loan scheme.

The selection of the award-winning Q.PEAK DUO-G5 panels means that future homeowners will be able to take full advantage of government subsidies, even in low-light and constricted rooftop spaces.  This will offer residents expected savings of more than $60,000 per home over the next 20 years.

The installation of the batteries is being completed by Natural Solar, one of Australia’s largest solar and battery installers and a Q.PARTNER, an official Q CELLS preferred installer.

CEO and founder of Natural Solar Chris Williams said that Q CELL’s Q.PEAK DUO-G5 panel was selected for its high efficiency and high performance.

“The Q.PEAK DUO-G5 is one of the newest and most powerful modules on the market,” he said.

“We were particularly impressed by its excellent performance in shaded areas and restricted roof-spaces – which is vitally important for those who are looking to maximise their power generation.

“This, combined with a 25-year performance warranty and strong local support offered by Q CELLS Australia, meant it really stood out from competitors.”

The first development, located in the Adelaide beach-side suburb of Warradale, will be powered by a combination of solar and battery power, with a 5kWp solar system comprising of 325Wp Q CELLS’ Q.PEAK DUO-G5 panels and a 7.5kWh battery. These will be installed by Natural Solar for DHL Projects, with the developer funding the entire system within the building process by claiming the government subsidy. Buyers who purchase off the plan will receive the solar battery system as a free upgrade.

Williams commented that it is exciting to be working with a forward-thinking team of developers and agents to offer new homeowners the opportunity to benefit from battery power from day one of purchasing their home.

“When homeowners sign up to the plan offered by the energy retailer, each home will save an estimated $2,400+GST per year,” he said.

“Furthermore, it will future-proof each property from the consistently rising prices of electricity of approximately 20 per cent year on year,” Williams said.

The first residents are expected to take advantage of their new Q.PEAK DUO G-5 powered solar systems, when they move in 10-12 weeks.
