Electricity line takes scenic route

Tenix was awarded a $19 million contract from Country Energy to build the Cooma-Bega 132kV electricity line project in southern New South Wales in March.

The project is located in NSW’s Snowy Mountains region, 350 km south of Sydney. Most of the works will take place in a rural setting with adjoining environmental features such as nature reserves and sensitive ecological communities.

“Tenix’s environmental management during construction will be critical,” Tenix CEO, Ross Taylor said.

“Given that works will be occurring predominately in a rural environment, it is crucial that we deliver a high standard of environmental management and protection during construction.”
Tenix’s submission focused on innovative construction and scheduling practices to achieve tight deadlines, as well as identifying solutions which will deliver Country Energy savings.

The project will start in late March and is expected to take 30 weeks.

Tenix provides end-to-end services to owners of electricity, gas, water, and other network,

infrastructure and industrial assets and its operations span Australia, New Zealand and the South Pacific.
