Digital startup to change business energy procurement

Sydney-based energy start up Business Energy Marketplace has introduced an innovative digital platform designed to help commercial and industrial businesses save time, money and hassle when securing electricity contracts.

The platform allows businesses to get electricity quotes directly from the majority of electricity retailers in the market at the push of a button so they can compare them, choose the best deal and sign up online, all in under 15 minutes.

Business Energy Marketplace head David Burgess said the platform was conceptualised to address challenges faced by commercial and industrial businesses when it came to securing electricity contracts.

“We are thrilled to introduce an efficient way for the market to source energy quotes,” Mr Burgess said.

“If you use a broker, you can now cut out the middleman and go direct. The projected savings for businesses are significant.

“The crisis facing the Australian energy industry is putting pressure on businesses who are dealing with the rising cost of energy.

“With Business Energy Marketplace, we’re placing unprecedented power and choice in the hands of businesses so they can quickly and easily compare and secure energy contracts online.”

Business Energy Marketplace has so far secured the support of Momentum, Alinta and AGL.

“We want to introduce transparency to the commercial and business energy market,” Mr Burgess said.

“Together with the support of Australian energy retailers, we’re looking to shake-up the status quo by empowering our customers to secure energy contracts independently at the click of a button.”
